Unpacking kernel 2.4

Hello! all,

	I just downloaded the tar.gz file for Linux kernel 2.4 from
www.kernel.org. When I try to unpack it (using tar zxpvf) it only unpacks
the fs directory and its contents and then gives the following error
messages:

gzip: stdin: unexpected end of file
tar: Unexpected EOF in archive
tar: Child returned status 1
tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors

Any idea on what is the problem?
